PD Dr. Anna Wiehl ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin für angewandte Medienwissenschaft und Digitale Medien an der Universität Bayreuth.

Nach ihrem Magisterstudium der Anglistik und Romanistik promovierte Anna Wiehl zum Mythos Europäische Identität. Parallel dazu war sie mehrere Jahre trimedial als Autorin und Redakteurin für den Bayerischen Rundfunk und arte tätig. Von 2012-2015 arbeitete sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Professur für Medienwissenschaft der Universität Bayreuth, von 2015-2016 war sie research fellow am Digital Cultures Research Centre der University of the West of England, Bristol, UK, von 2017-2019 Forschungsstipendiatin der Universität Bayreuth. In ihrer Habilitation The 'New' Documentary Nexus befasste sie sich mit 'digital factuals'/interactive documentaries und deren Potential für Interaktion und Partizipation. Aktuell leitet sie im Rahmen eines BMBF Projektes den Aufbau eines Netzwerkes zur Erforschung des 'Dokumentarischen im Digitalen'. Ihre aktuellen Forschungsschwerpunkte sind digitale Kulturen, dokumentarische Praktiken, Partizipationstheorien sowie environmental humanities.
